Therapy for Teens

Exploring who you are and discovering what’s meaningful to you.

Maybe you…

  • drift between social circles and friends, unsure of where you fit

  • feel confused about your place in the world and who you want to become

  • feel overwhelmed at the thought of having to make decisions about your future, your college, or your career path

There’s no denying, it’s hard to be a teenager (especially these days)

How we can help

We’ll work together on uncovering what makes you YOU.

Your talents, your struggles, and your interests are all what make you unique. We tailor therapy to your needs and goals to help you feel confident in who you are and the person you’re becoming.

It may feel intimidating or uncomfortable to think about opening up to a new person about things you might never have shared with anyone before. We understand that fear, and that’s why therapy will happen at your pace and we’ll check in each appointment to see what you need.

Together we’ll create a space where you can feel comfortable to explore the struggles of your past, navigate the challenges in your present, and develop your goals for your future.

Common questions about therapy for teens

  • Great question! First and foremost, we want to make sure that therapy is a space where you feel comfortable to express your true self. We will spend time identifying what you would like to gain from therapy and work together to move toward those goals. Therapy is individualized for each person, and we are more than happy to answer any questions you have during a consultation call or throughout sessions.

Since we’ll be meeting online, you can participate in sessions from a space where you feel comfortable in your home.

  • We understand that you want the best for your teen and may want to be informed of details of their sessions. That being said, in order for effective therapy to take place, it’s important for teens to have a space where they can feel free to be completely open with their therapist. Therefore, we will not disclose anything shared by a teen to parents, unless we believe a teen is in danger of harming themselves or someone else.

We work with teen clients to empower them to share their progress with their parents directly. If we believe that there’s information that would be helpful to share, we encourage teens to share that information with their parents directly. They can also provide consent for their therapist to reach out to parents with an update. Parents are always welcome to contact us with any questions.

  • Yes! We believe in the importance of being able to bring your full self to therapy. You can expect a safe and supportive space to explore your identity.
